With the rooster on his shoulder the poor farmer began the journey home.
One day he met an old master.
He spoke the following wise words:
"Don't you think that you have over-reacted a bit, young man?
Killing a man for stealing a rooster.
Don't you see that if you walk about with a weapon and ready to use it, you're just as bad as the thief?"
The poor farmer understood that he had acted wrongly, but he had seen no other way to get his rooster back. Besides, "It was an accident." he said.
"Throw down your sword," the old master spoke, "and I will teach you that you're just as powerful with only a walking stick or just your bare hands."
